BRIEF ABOUT THE COLLEGE |
COLLEGE SONG |
Madhab Chandra Das College, now a name in the arena of learning stands at a spot rich in charming natural serenity and grace that was conducted to arouse aesthetic pleasure. Rural Sonai area comprises the huge plot of land from Bhuban Hill to Sonabarighat and from Binnakandi to Palonghat. But this bigger area is devoid of an institution of higher education and therefore the local students had to opt for the two Colleges of Silchar namely Gurucharan College and Cachar College. Most of the guardians with meager income could not afford to send their wards to Silchar and the wards of few affordable guardians had most often to come back despaired because of failure to get admitted to the desired Colleges. It appeared as a grave problem for the area as a whole and it attracted the attention of some noble minds of the area. They came forward to effect a permanent solution of the problem. On one sunny morning in the early seventies of the last century those altruistic social servants attended by a section of common people of the area got together and after thorough discussion and exchange of views the historic resolution of setting up a College, the dire need of the hour, was unanimously adopted. The long-standing dream of the people of the area, thus, was on its way to fructification. The Anti-Ragging Committee / Squad of the institution Convener : Mr. khaled Azam Mazumder (Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of History) Member : Dr. Abdul Matin Laskar (Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali) Mr. Afsor Hussain Laskar (Assistant Professor, Department of History) Mr. Barat Uddin Laskar (Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Persian) STATUTORY WARNING AGAINST RAGGING This is for information of all the students and guardians that Ragging is strictly prohibited in the institution.
